A dream became a reality when Central Private opened its doors in September 1967. The vision to build a school for the children began over a cup of coffee between three gentlemen and resulted in the commitment of several local families to personally invest in the development of a new school campus. These families formed a non-profit corporation that was composed of seventeen board members. The board personally guaranteed to finance for the purchase of school property and the loans to construct the school buildings. When construction began, these committed families worked tirelessly to ensure that the school opened its doors for the upcoming school year. Over the years, the campus expanded to include additional classrooms, a gym, a cafeteria, a swimming pool, and a football field. We are proud of the achievements made over the past 50 years and are grateful to those founding families that gave so much to begin a legacy of faith-based education in Central.
Central Private is committed to preparing students for the future in a safe, nurturing Christian environment in which students are encouraged to grow, share, and learn with a faculty dedicated to academic excellence. We offer an accelerated college preparatory curriculum wherein students are encouraged to pursue individual interests, excel beyond basic academic standards, and achieve success as productive members of the community.
Central Private seeks to provide the opportunity for students to grow and develop their capabilities to the highest degree. Our comprehensive college-preparatory program is designed for students to develop skills and attributes that will well equip them not only for college but also for a successful life, based on Christian principles. Students receive a balanced program providing them with strong spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social development. Central maintains a Christian faculty, staff, and administration dedicated to developing the individual potential of all students in keeping with the philosophy of the school.
CP's tradition of excellence is supported by a full college-preparatory curriculum; a low pupil/teacher ratio; separate gymnasiums, libraries, and computer labs for the elementary and middle/high schools; athletic programs for both boys and girls; and an after-school care program.
