Matthew Bihm, an outfielder for the Redhawks, will attend Tulane University on a baseball scholarship in the fall of 2020. He is a four-year letterman and has been a member of the All-Metro Team and the First Team All-District in Mississippi. Matthew is also an honors student with a 3.9 cumulative grade point average.
Present to witness this special moment were his proud parents, Eric and Angie Bihm, his sister and CPS alum, Lauren Bihm, and his supportive grandparents, Carroll and Mary Breaux and Earline Bihm. His teammates, fellow seniors, and CPS faculty and staff also attended to show their support. All cheered in unison as Bihm finished signing and put on his Green Wave Baseball Cap.
While attending Tulane University in New Orleans, he plans to major in exercise science to pursue a career in physical therapy.
We are excited to welcome everyone to “The Red Kettle,” Central Private’s newly re-established school newspaper! You might be wondering why we named it “The Red Kettle.” Well, here’s why.
As everyone knows, Central Private School has a new mascot and a new brand – The Redhawk; and we wanted to tie our newspaper name into our brand. So, we did what everyone does. We googled it, and we learned a lot about hawks! A lot. But one thing stuck out. Did you know that a group of quail is a covey and a group of lions is a pride? Well, a group of hawks is a kettle! Thus, the “Red Kettle” was born.
Since deciding to reboot the paper, we have worked very hard to produce a quality product that will serve as a platform for students, teachers, families, and friends to connect and keep in touch with what is going on at CP. Communication is one of the keys to success, and we want our new newspaper to be part of the success at Central Private.
Please also check out The Screech, our student blog, and be on the lookout. We have another new and exciting addition to our communication platform coming soon!
