Safe Return Update from Bro. Martin

Dear CP Family:

I trust you are well.  We have been working hard on reopening plans for Central Private, and we are excited to get back on campus as soon as possible. We are thankful that we will be able to offer a traditional face-to-face 5-day-a-week class setting. However, our number one concern is the health and safety of our students, staff, teachers, and extended families.
With that in mind, please carefully and thoroughly read our “Safe Return Guide.” (click here to view). It will provide details necessary for our reopening. We were assisted in the development of our plan by a reopening task force of CP personnel that included a doctor, nurse, and lawyer, as well as teachers and parents. We appreciate their assistance, as well as the support of our board.
Concerning reopening,
We made this decision with our students, teachers, and staff in mind. We apologize for any inconveniences this change may cause, but we feel the decision is best due to COVID-19 concerns. Here are a few details:
  • This change will only require slight adjustments to our school calendar. All holidays remain, and we are not adding days in May. We simply removed 2-day breaks in March and October that were slotted for teacher in-service and parent/teacher conferences (Conferences can still be set up throughout the school year as needed.) To view the school calendar, click here.
  • We will begin with a soft opening. Half of our students’ first day will be Monday, August 24, and the other half will attend Tuesday, August 25. Then all students will be on campus on Wednesday, August 26. This will allow the school to go over necessary precautions with smaller groups and make any adjustments required. You will receive information concerning which day (August 24 or August 25) will be your student(s) day to attend.
  • Teachers will report the week of August 10 for work. The following week teachers will report for in-service training.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are anticipating a great school year. We have challenges, but we are blessed with a strong and resilient Central Private family. As we pray, we are trusting God for His guidance and grace as we move forward. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me.
