On February 25 & 26, seventeen members of the Teen Library Club attended the 2018 Louisiana Teen-age Librarian Association (LTLA) convention in Alexandria, LA. During the student-led convention, teens enjoyed book discussions, contests, a dance, a talent show, and a luncheon featuring teen author Jennifer Brown.

While at convention TLC successfully chaired many convention committees. Mary-Hannah Varnando and Sarah Israel represented CP as chairmen of the Wes Smith Essay Contest, Zacc Landry and Nolan McDonald chaired the Scrapbook, SR. contest, and Addison Junuea and Sidney Laney chaired the Dance and Dance contest.  During the convention TLC members won several awards including the junior high winning 3rd place for their bookmark, 1st place for their group costume, 1st place in individual costume (Zacc Landry) and 2nd place in group dance.  The high school won 2nd place for their bookmark.  A special congratulations to Mary-Hannah Varnado who will serve as LTLA's 2018-2019 State Historian.
