Note:  As part of the course content of such classes as Anatomy & Physiology, Biology and Health Education, Central Private School will allow sex education presentations that cover basic information and common problems or diseases of the reproductive systems as well as sexually transmitted diseases.  All presentations will encourage abstinence but will allow the discussion of contraceptive methods.

Any parent or legal guardian of a student who does not wish for their student to participate in the programs outlined above should notify the principal in writing at the beginning of the school year.

Central Private Honors Curriculum

 

In order for a student to become valedictorian or salutatorian, the following classes must be taken, and only the grades from the following classes will be used to determine class ranking for valedictorian and salutatorian:

English I, II, III, IV

World History (begins with Class of 2011)

Valedictorian/Salutatorian Requirements:

  • Student must have attended Central Private School for final four complete consecutive semesters of his/her junior and senior years, from opening date to ending date, to be eligible to be valedictorian or salutatorian.
  • No summer school or correspondence credit is acceptable.  Louisiana Virtual School credit is acceptable for courses not offered at CPS.
  • The student with the highest grade point average will be the valedictorian.
  • The student with the second highest grade point average will be the salutatorian.
  • In case of a tie, seating for graduation will be arranged in alphabetical order.
